Mixi Avenue is an online store we created forging linkages with co-ops in underdeveloped countries and U.S. businesses.
There are several ways to approach economic development. There has been a movement now, or shall we say a permanent way of thinking that includes micro-lending, business development and last but not least ways to keep all efforts sustainable by making business decisions to deal with fair trade co-ops in several countries. Mixi Avenue purchases raw materials from several organizations which includes Beads for Life, Global Mamas and many more. A focus group here in the U.S. was surveyed to give feedback on which products they favored. Our products are sourced from Uganda, Ghana the Philippines and other countries as well. The thought process is simple, we continue to do business with these organizations allowing women and men to feel empowered, sending their children to school as well as moving forward in life. What is great is that we can offer our customers quality products with a touch of empowerment attached.

The Global Resource Database
We are so excited about the development of our Global resource database. While we will start in North America (U.S., Canada, Mexico), we will be expanding to Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. Please stay tuned as we roll out 4 phases to complete the development, keeping our contributors and audience informed.
Why the Database?
Whether it is traveling abroad or here at home you begin to recognize how access to resources are either limited or not being tapped into sufficiently. We want to allow individuals access to specific information, as they are seeking resources based on their profile and inquiries. This helps individuals navigate information that they may not specifically receive conducting a general search through a search engine. Stay tuned, this move is going to be monumental - trust us!
